Preliminary Program

Jam-packed sessions spread over three days will include exciting keynote presentations and plenary lectures, submitted abstracts and posters.

The proposed theme for the Congress is Methodological Innovations in Epidemiology with sub themes including:

  • Career development across the epidemiologist life course
  • Mentor advice to students and early career epidemiologists
  • Student and early career epidemiologist advice to mentors
  • The changing nature of careers in epidemiology
  • Career development in mid and late career
  • Alignment of needs with regional and international association supports for career development

The program will include a keynote presentation on recent methodological innovations in epidemiology. Plenary sessions will be developed on theme, from leading epidemiologists on topics such as:

  • Innovations adopted from other fields 1 (e.g.econometrics)
  • Innovations adopted from other fields 2 (e.g., biology)
  • Innovations in data collection methods
  • Innovations in causal modelling
  • Innovations in content area 1 (e.g., social epidemiology)
  • Innovations in content area 2 (e.g., clinical epidemiology)
  • Methods of communicating epidemiology – from interacting with our study participants to disseminating results to the general public

Plenary sessions, symposia, and workshops on translation from research to policy and practice (from leading epidemiologists, policy‐makers and practitioners).
